The Business and Sustainable Development Commission is on a mission to align the interests of sustainable development and economic profit. Its research aims to prove that building a better world is not just ethical, but in business leaders’ economic interest. We worked with the Commission to realize this message through modern branding and a new web presence ready in time for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Launched in 2016, BSDC is charged with recruiting businesses to achieve 17 ambitious objectives that include ending poverty, hunger and gender inequality by 2030. We set out to create a visual identity that could stand up to such a monumental cause: one that is clean and appropriate, while still conveying progress, excitement and opportunity.
BSDC needed to simplify its branding. Brooklyn United developed a warm but lively color palette that serves as the backdrop for bold photography and type. We focused the website on the organization’s most compelling aspects: its groundbreaking research, expert reports and renowned commissioners. We also created a digital hub for world leaders to download the Business Commission’s anticipated annual report. The report microsite supplements the 122-page report with concise case studies and video supplements to make the findings more tangible and engaging.
Over 20,000 visitors from all over the world have visited BSDC's website since site launch. The annual report, released at the World Economic Forum in January 2017, has been downloaded 7,000 times by leaders in the UK, US, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Germany, Norway, Australia and more. We're looking forward to continued partnership in 2017 and beyond.
